The company located in Waiblingen (Germany) with around 100 employees joined the ROTZINGER Group in July 2021. This allowed the ROTZINGER Group to enlarge its portfolio of HANSELLA’s filling & capping machines with cartoning machines including track&trace solutions (serialization and aggregation).
As a proud member of the ROTZINGER Group in Switzerland, ROTZINGER PharmaPack GmbH continues to respond flexibly to customers’ requirements and to remain successful in the pharmaceutical cartoning and track&trace business. Its portfolio ranges from cartoning machines (for vials, ampules, syringes, insulin pens, pouches, blisters and bottles for cough syrup and cosmetics) to serialization and aggregation solutions for tracking and tracing of the packed products. The company also offers service around the world.
In the post-war period in 1945, the company Höfliger & Karg emerged from Hesser AG. The two mechanical engineers Otto Höfliger and Rudolf Karg had worked closely together at Hesser before they decided to set up their own business. In the 1960s, this former two-man company Höfliger & Karg expanded to over 1’500 employees and, in turn, became the founding cell for numerous companies in the packaging industry.
In 1970 – Höfliger & Karg increasingly specialized in the construction of pharmaceutical packaging machines – the company was integrated into the Bosch family. In the period from 1969 to 1977, Hesser AG was also gradually acquired by Bosch, so that the former competitors found themselves under the Bosch family roof.1
As part of its pharma business, Bosch developed and produced carton packaging machines for a wide range of pharmaceutical applications as well as integrated track&trace hardware and software solutions. Its portfolio currently ranges from cartoning machines (for vials, ampules, syringes, insulin pens, pouches, blisters and bottles for cough syrup and cosmetics) to serialization and aggregation solutions for tracking and tracing of the packed products.
On January 2020, Bosch sold their entire packaging division (formerly Bosch Packaging Technology) to CVC Capital Partners (CVC) 2 who renamed the company into Syntegon Technology GmbH.
As part of a realignment of the portfolio, Syntegon carved-out their cartoning and track&trace business in April 2021 and created the Syntegon Cartoning and Track&Trace GmbH (SCTT). This company was then acquired by the ROTZINGER Group end of June 2021.
With this step, ROTZINGER Group enlarged its portfolio for a wide range of pharmaceutical applications as well as integrated track&trace solutions allowing its customers to choose from an even larger range of solutions.
