The mission of the Head of Mechanical Design is to drive innovation, design, and development of cutting-edge machinery solutions that meet the needs of our customers and comply with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management: Lead, guide, and develop a team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Design and Development: Oversee the creation of detailed mechanical designs and 3D models using CAD software. Guide the team in prototype development and rigorous testing to validate designs.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical direction and expertise in the design of complex mechanical components and systems, ensuring reliability, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and sales, to ensure project milestones and customer expectations are met.
Production Support: Work closely with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, including material selection and production methods, ensuring smooth implementation of designs.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures and standards within the design team. Conduct reviews, inspections, and testing to ensure all designs meet or exceed specifications.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design processes, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Documentation: Ensure the preparation of complete technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides.
Compliance: Ensure all designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety codes.
ducation & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design Engineering or a related field.
Is a plus: Master's in Product Engineering and Production Processes or MBA
More than 10 years of experience in industrial machinery or equipment.
Skills:
Advanced English (C1); native or fluent Spanish.
Experience in project management and development of complex mechanical products.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
Proven leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and results-oriented mindset.
Availability to travel internationally.
